Dear Noel,

I was in London yesterday and today, and heard from Bryn that you were coming up, but had not got your letter. When I went round to (19) Marlboro’ 1 no one was there and I left a hurried note. If you care for a ride - by the way I suppose you both ride - it may stand; but anyhow come to lunch at 1.15.

I went to town because of my eyes. I in spectacles! Of course it was impossible. I don’t have to wear them, it was all a mistake. I heard from Bryn all about Bubbles (J. Macartney Robbins) 2 - in fact all about most things. I was there yesterday evening and talked a lot and bored them both.

I like your Mrs. Dryhurst, 3 taken in conjunction with those people at the Larkin 4 meeting. It must have been good to see- I have once been in a crowd but that was t hreatening (it was at Budapest) and they weren’t intelligent beings.

I must send this tonight- that note must have seemed absurd - it is after 12 and I travelled with a number of knuts. 5
